Volunteering in LEthbridge SchoolS
In order to volunteer in schools within Lethbridge, you must first complete the Annual Volunteer Registration Form, found here.
- Our recommendation is to complete the form and leave the School/Department area blank until you (or we) find an opportunity.
- If you know of a school you want to volunteer at, your next step is to reach out to that school!
- Otherwise, please see the list below for in-school opportunities that we have compiled:
Science Fair Judge at Father Leonard Van Tighem
I am looking for education students who would like to assist in the judging of a grade 4 science fair on March 21st, at Father Leonard Van Tighem school from 9am to 12:30pm. Individuals will observe a set of students science fair projects and ask some pre determined questions about their projects. If interested please contact [email protected]
Dr. Plaxton Elementary Grade 2 & 4 Support
Dr. Plaxton Elementary School is currently looking for volunteers to support teachers, in a grade 2 classroom and grade 4 classroom.
- The opportunities for volunteering are quite flexible and can range from student support, to classroom preparation assistance, to lesson support.
- The frequency of your involvement can be discussed and adjusted according to your availability and ideas.
Westminster School Literacy & Numeracy Support
Westminster School is looking for support with literacy and numeracy at their school.
- The targeted classrooms would be grade 1-2 and grade 4-5. They would love to have anyone who is looking for opportunities to engage with students 1:1 and in small and large groups.
- Any time that you are able to volunteer would be appreciated!
Agnes Davidson School Opportunities
Agnes Davidson School is always looking for volunteers at their Learning Commons by putting away library books and generally organizing the shelves.
- Potentially, there is an opportunity for volunteering in kindergarten classes; this would be running a learning center, helping with crafts, engaging students in play, etc. Although they are a French immersion school, volunteers would not need to speak French.
- If there are any volunteers who speak French, Agnes Davidson School would have other opportunities in older classes - helping with learning, reading to students, and that sort of thing!
We're freshening things up!
If you're a teacher or school with a volunteer opportunity, we'd love to hear from you!
