Erinn McRae - Vice President Internal
Hello fellow EUS members! My name is Erinn McRae and I am running for VP Internal! I am currently in my fourth year of my combined BA/BEd program with a major in History/Social Studies. I have been a member of the EUS since my first year of university and have thoroughly enjoyed meeting new people and building relationships with other pre-service teachers.
One of my favourite things to do is find ways to connect with others. I value opportunities to collaborate with my peers to achieve common goals. Additionally, I love listening to others share about their experiences, passions and dreams. Having grown up in a small town I have learned the importance of building a sense of community. I strive to live my life in a way that includes everyone and encourages people to be the best version of themselves. I want to create an environment that allows everyone to feel both welcome and appreciated, and I would love the opportunity to do this within the EUS. With that said, I believe my strong skills in communication, organization and accountability would help me to serve you as VP Internal. Your vote would help me to expand the sense of community we experience as members of the EUS. I thank you for participating in this election and wish the best of luck to my fellow candidates! Hi! My name is Danny, and I am running for Vice President of Administration for the EUS. I am just finishing up my third year studying Math Education as well as Science and Social Studies. The EUS is doing great work to help connect and inform its members and I would love to become more involved in a role within its Executive Council. I am passionate about teaching and believe that teachers should always be working hard to learn and improve themselves, something I am hoping to do with this position! Darian Yurkoski - Director, Tutoring Services
My name is Darian Yurkoski and I am a Fine Arts (drama) major in my fourth year! If I am elected to serve on the Education Undergrad Society, I will aim to hold a safe, inclusive, and positive space for students to become more involved with the Faculty of Education. I believe that one of the most important parts of the university experience is making meaningful connections — how amazing is it that the E.U.S. allows students to do exactly that! If I am elected to be Director of Tutoring Services, I would work hard to be there for all E.U.S. members interested in becoming a tutor, or those seeking tutoring services. Overall, I will aim to listen mindfully to E.U.S. students who need my help, while promoting a positive and inspiring space to become more involved with the Faculty of Education.

Rhys Fletcher - Director, Membership Services
Hello EUS members! My name is Rhys Fletcher and I want to be your next Director of Membership Services! I am in my first year as a general humanities and English education major and as an out of province student (living in Manitoba) I want to connect everyone with all the amazing services this community of educators provides. While i have only just begun to utilize all the features the EUS provides I know that this resource is so important for our University. As a future educator I will always strive to learn and grow and being apart of this community both as a student and council member will push me to be better for my students and for the vast community of educators beside me. As the Director of Membership Services I hope to make the registration process enjoyable and simple, just as I had the privilege of experiencing. Making future educators feel at home in this little community for the very first step of registration is and will be my primary goal as a member of the EUS council and I hope you will consider voting for me as your new Director of Membership services. |

Cody Hemmerling - Director, Membership Services
Hello EUS! I am Cody Hemmerling, and I would be honored to be elected as the director of memberships services for the EUS for the 2021-2022 school year. I am going into my 4th year as a General Science/Education major and after completing PSI this year, I am itching to get back in the classroom for PSII next year. As we (hopefully!) move towards in-person classes, I will strive to make the membership process as smooth and as stress-free as possible for all of you (we have all endured enough stress due to covid in the past year and getting an EUS membership shouldn't add to that!).
I hope that by serving on the EUS council I get to keep in touch with the amazing people I met in PSI while continuing to meet more teachers of the future! Vote for me! |
Abbigail Salter - Director, Volunteer Services
Hello EUS members!!
My name is Abbi Salter, and I am second-year general humanities and English Education major! I believe that I am very well suited for the director of social media position on the EUS council. My platform would include a great emphasis on keeping members informed and consistently updated on events and opportunities going on! I would want the social media pages to provide helpful and relevant information for EUS members and students potentially interested in joining! I also value entertainment and believe I could bring fun and engaging activities on social media pages like questionnaires, amusing posts, potential giveaways, and fun competitions for followers! I think members should be publicly celebrated for accomplishments in their academic and personal lives on our society’s social media! I think Instagram, Twitter, and other platforms utilized by the club should be a tool to feature members on a regular basis in order to create a greater sense of community! Social media can be a great way for members of the EUS to connect...especially in a time like we are in right now with distancing and virtual classes. Overall, I see myself as a passionate and creative individual who loves communicating with others and helping those seeking information. I would love to help spread the word about all of the incredible events that the EUS makes possible, as it has really assisted me in feeling more connected to my university experience and program! |
Cailin Williams - Director, Social Media
|
|
Hello, I am Cailin Williams and am a fourth year Physical Education Major. I would first like to thank you for the consideration for the Director of Social Media Position. This position excites me as I have many years of experience with graphic design and would strive to make our social media pages a cohesive, engaging, and informative platform for current and new EUS members. One of my ideas for the pages, would be to create weekly series that highlight the wonderful things our members are doing. Examples would be professor highlights, a day in the life of a PS1, 2, or 3 student, as well as members who are doing something special with the university, EUS, or life in general. By showing the highlights of members, this could drive new members to the page and provide more exposure to the program both in and outside of the University of Lethbridge.
Social media is an incredibly useful way to stay connected, especially during these COVID times. The EUS pages have been very helpful in my education and I will work hard to make these platforms a space for EUS members to not only gain valuable information but, make it a place where members can create relationships with others within the education program. |
